“Ahhhhh…” or “Christmas vacation”

I think this is my first "true" Christmas vacation in the past 10 or 15 years–the way I’m going to define it. Throughout high school and college and even my professional life thus far, I’ve either a) worked, or b) traveled quite far, during the holidays. This time, as reflected in today’s morning and ealry afternoon, I have abosolutely no agenda. I’m going to do whatever I want, whenever I want, and I’m going to make no appologies.

For me, this is a true break. A few weeks ago, I had planned to use this time to redo our basement stair case and get our house that much closer to being ready to sell when the time comes. I may do that, or I my leave it for sometime in January. I’d love to read through the Chronicles of Narnia set I got for Christmas from my parents–a series I’ve always wanted to read. I’ll probably pick away at it a bit. Maybe or maybe not.

I spent the first part of the day catching up on some magazine reading–then flipped to SportsCenter when Scott got home for lunch and we talked fantasy football a bit. I need to hang a storm door, but that could wait to tomorrow, or Wednesday. Whenever. Sometime before the beginning of the year I want to lay out my budget and figure out how to stick with it–something I’ve attempted and failed at the past few years. Might try that tonight.

Clark says I’m laid back and without a schedule normally and it drives him nuts. He’d really be irritated now.

This is great.
