As part of my commitment to create something daily, I’m planning to post some photos from my archives that haven’t done anything with. I’ll attempt to be somewhat seasonal when possible, but that might not always be the case.
I took this photo of the Flathead River with the Swan Mountains looming in the background the first winter I had my Nikon D810—2014.
“A wisdom model” is how Morgan Snyder proposes men approach their 30s. There’s no better source of true wisdom than scripture—the words of Jesus and the proverbs in particular.
This section of Proverbs 3:3 from The Passion Translation embodies truth I’ve lived by, sometimes intentionally but oftentimes not. Much of it I attribute simply to my upbringing. Integrity was strongly modeled by my parents and extended family.
Today I worked on our mud room. Adding a built-in bench and overhead storage area was a project I started with my dad during the visit he and mom made over Thanksgiving. Naturally, it’s lingered ever since, so it was nice to make some progress on it over Christmas break.
Today I focused mostly on fitting the 1×10″ pieces (ripped to 8 3/8″) that will make the top surface. After they’re all fit, I’ll stain them before fastening in. Then I’ll poly and do some trim and accent work before song the final paint and caulk.
I’m so grateful for the years of training and experience I received from my father as a teen and young adult. Even now, I continue to learn things from him as we do projects like this together when he visits.
