Yesterday, I trained a handful of people on how to add information to our employee Web site. Most of these people had been trained back in April or May, but hadn’t really done much with the training they received and for the most part had forgotten what they were taught. So, I was charged with catching them back up to speed.
It was the first time I had ever really done something like that before. I’ve trained people one-on-one in the past, but this time I had seven people in a room, each in front of their own computers, and I ran a projector and had a laser pointer and everything. Call me Professor Maust for the day.
I wasn’t sure how it went until I received the following e-mail:
Joel,
You turned on a light bulb for me yesterday. I have been struggling with our Web site for months and I think you finally broke through some cobwebs. I’ve been in there playing with it today and made some pretty impressive changes if I do say so myself. I have a long way to go for sure, but yesterday really helped me. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!
Three cheers for the spiritual gift of Teacher!

Good for you, Joel!
Well professor…it sounds like a rewarding day. :) How about you teach whoever designed the part of the website regarding job listings to create a more functional approach. That would be awesome. :)
